Fans Chase Yanks Autographs In Vain

Some do wind up on eBay. Others are lost. For many fans, though, grabbing an autograph at the ballpark is part of the experience of seeing a game in person.
While many teams make it a challenge to garner signatures and competition today can be fierce, the New York Yankees have come under fire for how their new ballpark seems to have created a chasm between players and fans.
Players are now able literally drive into the stadium, avoiding any one-on-one contact with autograph seekers. Collectors have tried to get creative, chasing down players at traffic lights and devising ways to sneak into areas where they might get the attention of a player.
Accoding to a story in the New York Times, it's been disappointing for fans who remember they at least had a shot at the old park.
