Dreams partners with Chicago Bulls to launch new online store

Licensed sports products retailer Dreams (NYSE Amex: DRJ) said Friday it has partnered with the Chicago Bulls to launch the basketball team's official updated online store, shop.bulls.com.



The deal marks Dream's second alliance with an NBA team following the web syndication with the Washington Wizards last year.  



The new site offers fans a wide range of Bulls products and sports memorabilia, including apparel, headwear, gifts, novelties, home décor and collectibles.   



"We are delighted to work with Chicago Bulls, one of the most recognized franchises in the NBA, and to offer our sophisticated technology to enhance their fan shop," said retail president and FansEdge founder, Kevin Bates. 



Dreams' e-commerce division, which includes FansEdge.com and other websites, has been an increasing focus for the firm.  The division manages over 65 online fan shops, selling licensed sports merchandise from the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, and NCAA. 



Other sports teams Dreams has partnered with include the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and the San Diego Chargers. 



The company's recent growth is also reflective of its web syndication platform, a market which it entered in late 2008 by rolling out "Dreams Retail Solution", a host of e-commerce support services including custom site design, inventory, management and marketing.  At the end of the third quarter last year, 70 companies signed up, including Walmart, JC Penney and Sears, as well as NBC Sports and AOL Sports.



"Dreams provides a wonderful product offering, fast order fulfillment and shipping, and stellar customer service for our fans," said vice president of business operations of the Chicago Bulls, Steve Schanwald.

Dreams was up 3.4% on the news to trade at $2.73 as of 12:24pm EST on Friday.
