Auerbach Rings, Game Memorabilia Up For Grabs

BOSTON -- If you've ever wanted to own a piece of Celtics history from the personal collection of a Celtics icon, here's your chance.

 

The estate of legendary Boston Celtics coach Arnold "Red" Auerbach is hitting the auction block, including his personal basketball memorabilia collection, SCP Auctions said Monday.

Among the items on the block are Celtics championship rings, awards, game-use items, autographed pieces, personal effects and ephemera.

 

The items will be sold in three parts starting on April 30, SCP said.

 

Under Auerbach's leadership, the Celtics won 938 games and nine NBA championships. The team won another seven championships under his guidance as president and general manager.

 

Auerbach, who died in 2006 at the age of 89, was inducted into the NBA Hall Of Fame in 1969.
