With Bryant, Gasol & Odom, Lakers Find Star in Bynum
January 31, 2010 on 4:35 pm | In Memorabilia, Basketball |One of the stories dedicated fans and NBA memorabilia collectors have watched through this season’s first-half has been the emergence of Lakers center Andrew Bynum. The Lakers’ first-round pick in 2005, the New Jersey native has blossomed in extra minutes in Phil Jackson’s shortened rotation. Versus his career average, the 22-year old has increased his scoring five points per game this season (15.5 ppg) while emerging as a top-flight rebounder (8.3 rpg).
While acquiring Kobe Bryant signatures is a must for any serious basketball collector, the demand for Andrew Bynum autographed Lakers merchandise has grown exponentially in recent weeks.
All eyes will be on the TD Bank North Garden today, as Bynum, Bryant and the Lakers head to Boston for a match-up with the rival Celtics. It’s often difficult to imagine that out of the 62 NBA Championships that have been won, 32 of them have been claimed by either the Lakers or Celtics, including each of the last two NBA titles.
