Tom Brady Memorabilia Buying Guide

By Sean J. O'Rourke

What is there to say about Tom Brady? Nobody could have ever guessed that the sixth round pick out of Michigan would become possibly the greatest signal caller in NFL history. During Brady's tenure in Ann Arbor he set school records for pass attempts and completions in a season while leading the Wolverines to a 20-5 record over two seasons. After leading the Wolverines to an Orange Bowl victory his senior season, Brady was selected 199th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft. After an injury to incumbent starter Drew Bledsoe in 2001, Brady was got the start. Brady showed signs of becoming an elite player during the 2001 NFL Playoffs as he led New England past the Oakland Raiders and the Pittsburgh Steelers, all on the way to the Super Bowl to face, “The greatest show on turf,” the St. Louis Rams. In one of the most dramatic events in Super Bowl history, Brady engineered a fourth quarter game- winning drive. With only 1:21 remaining and the Pats on their own 15 yard line, Brady drove the New England offense down the field to the Rams' 31. The drive and game capped off with an Adam Vinatieri field goal as time expired. Brady earned his first Super Bowl ring and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player ward as he threw for 145 yards and one touchdown.

Returning to the Big Game in 2003, Brady tossed three touchdowns and threw for 354 yards as he led New England past the Carolina Panthers. Brady earned his second Super Bowl MVP award and the gauntlet was laid for a new dynasty in the NFL. Following up their Championship season, the Pats would go 14-2 in 2004 and again represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. As Brady and Pats receiver Deion Branch put on a show for the ages, the New England Patriots captured their third Super Bowl in four seasons by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 24 21. Established as the top passer in the game, Brady would have arguably the greatest single season for a quarterback in NFL history in 2007. Surpassing Peyton Manning's single season touchdown record, Brady threw an unbelievable 50 touchdowns as he led the Patriots to a 16-0 regular season. Despite falling just short of his fourth Super Bowl victory, Brady further entrenched himself as the game's greatest talent by taking home his first NFL Most Valuable Player Award in 2007.
