In 2005, Ed Jaeger saw a need to revolutionize the work glove and outdoor performance wear. No longer would a simple piece of fabric cover worn hands—Jaegar wanted to use new, state-of-the-art material to create a performance glove for every condition.  Jaeger realized his idea by founding Ironclad Performance Wear.  Unlike conventional work gloves, which used organic fabrics and provided little protection or comfort, Ironclad began producing gloves made from technical fabrics that kept hands dry and comfortable and held up better than standard gear.

Ironclad.com is a very easy to navigate website because it is not a jumbled mass of pictures and text. Once on the site, a visitor can search the product store, learn about the history of Ironclad, read the news releases, find dealers of Ironcald merchandise or join the Ironclad team.  Members who sign up for the Ironclad team have access to promotional offers that only advertised to the team. Ironclad.com also has a separate section for visitors interested in investing with the company. 

Though Ironclad started out making gloves for the working man, they saw the success of companies like Under Armour and decided to head in a similar direction. Many of thei products use materials comparable to Under Armour and provide a similar look and feel. Ironclad promises that their performance wear will keep athletes warm or dry under all conditions. The Ironclad website does not, however, provide customers with any information about their privacy or shipping policies.  Customers may find some piece of mind, however, by visiting the Testimonials page of the website.  There visitors will find an archive of positive product reviews submitted by Ironclad.com customers.
