Athlon Sports was originally founded in 1970 as a publishing company.  Today, AthlonSports.com specializes in sports news and sports memorabilia. They are based in Nashville, TN and publish 15 annual pre-season magazines that are sold at newsstands around the country and internationally.  The homepage looked at first like it was specifically a news site, with daily headlines on everything from college basketball to the PGA Tour. The site tends to focus on college athletics, with the majority of content on the front page being about college athletics. When a visitor gets past the opening page, they can check out the other different links they offer. AthlonSports.com provides links to racing, tennis and golf. Though it is a bit difficult to locate, there is one link that forwards visitors to their Collectibles page.

Once visitors find the Collectibles page (at the bottom of the homepage), they will see that it is laid out well, with a variety of different areas to choose from. They have memorabilia for all the major sports, as well as memorabilia for a bit more obscure sports, like thoroughbred racing and cycling.  So if you’re looking for Lance Armstrong memorabilia, you may want to take a peek at this site. For each specific sports memorabilia page, they clearly lay out their most popular items. On the basketball page, Paul Pierce and Boston Celtics memorabilia are the first items to be displayed, as they are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now. For each item, AthlonSports.com offers a product guarantee, a Certificate of Authenticity and a one-of-a-kind hologram. As far as a return policy, a buyer may return unopened items for a full refund within seven days. For items that have been opened, there is no specific return policy. If a buyer wants information about returning an opened item, they must contact a customer service representative.
