Favre would go on to start every single game at quarterback for the next 15 seasons, a span of 275 games including the NFL Playoffs, a streak that is seven full seasons ahead of the next in line: Peyton Manning's 160 starts.  Because of his throwing style—which involved making both spectacular and disastrous passes relatively often—Favre was frequently referred to as a “gunslinger” by sports writers and broadcasters.  During his 17-year career Favre won an unmatched three consecutive Associated Press' Most Valuable Player Awards while racking up an incredible nine NFL Pro Bowl appearances. Favre's statistics make him arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Favre holds the NFL records for most career passing touchdowns, passing yards, passing touchdowns and wins for a starting quarterback.  He does, however, also hold the record for most career interceptions. Favre announced his retirement on March 4, 2008.

The Super Bowl XXXI Champion and American icon Favre is eligible for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013 and, when inducted, Favre will be remembered as possibly the greatest quarterback in football history.
