The 2015 NFL season is officially underway and fans are more than excited. Last season gave rise to many thriller moments en route to the New England Patriots being named the 2015 Super Bowl champions, so this year should be filled with drama as the Pats try to defend their title. After taking down the Seattle Seahawks 28-24, Tom Brady brought his fourth Super Bowl Championship back to New England. Despite winning their third consecutive NFC Conference Championship, the Seahawks weren't strong enough to defeat the Pats. They were unable to defend their title for consecutive Super Bowl victories even with their conference rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, eliminated early in the postseason. Four-time NFL MVP, Peyton Manning, led the Broncos to another memorable season en route to winning the AFC West and setting multiple records, including the NFL single season passing touchdown record. Despite becoming the NFL all-time passing touchdowns leader, Manning fell short of the title once again in a loss to the Colts during the divisional round. Despite topping the NFC East at 12-4, the Dallas Cowboys fell short in the postseason with a loss during the divisional round against NFC North winner the Green Bay Packers and potential MVP Aaron Rodgers. With the 2015 season just weeks away the question in every fan's mind is who will reign supreme this year? There's talk that quarterback Andrew Luck could lead his Indianapolis Colts to a much-needed successful year while the New York Giants look to have an improved season as they shoot for post season prominence. The New York Jets, with new quarterbacks in their roster, look to improve on their offense while fending off division rivals well into 2016. Both the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers seek redemption after losses in the wild-card round last season. Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints missed a wild-card berth by one loss and have geared up for a much more successful season. Should the Philadelphia Eagles take off as they did last year, their winning streak will continue well into division playoffs; they simply need to keep their roll going.

In a historic twelve-inning game 5, the Kansas City Royals have clinched the Fall Classic to become your 2015 World Series Champions! Facing the New York Mets, the Royals were able to claim victory after a 4-1 series that ended with a late upset that would eventually end the Royals’ three-decade World Series drought. The Royals went into the final game of the series with a 3-1 lead and game five seemed to be over as the Mets kept a 2-0 lead until the top of the ninth inning. With a daring dash home Eric Hosmer tied the game at 2-2, allowing the Royals to remain competitive.  In the twelfth inning, World Series MVP Salvador Perez singled to right, earning the first on base of the inning. With Jarrod Dyson pinch-running, the Royals ran their way to victory after base hits by Bartolo Colon, Alcides Escobar, Ben Zobrist and Lorenzo Cain, advancing four men home and ending the game with a 7-2 victory. Despite valiant efforts from Travis d’Arnaud  and Yoenis Cespedes combined phenomenal pitching by Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and the rest of the Mets pitching lineup, the Royals, with top sluggers like Alex Gordon, were far too dominant to be beat in this postseason race.

This year's season would have been nothing without the rise and fall of teams, like the 2014 World Series Champions, the San Francisco Giants. Despite the return of star pitcher and World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner, the Giants fell this year in an unexpected way, but they were not the only team. Despite winning the 2013 World Series Champs, the Boston Red Sox have since remained at to the bottom of the AL East even with proven champions, like Dustin Pedroia, and World Series MVP, David Ortiz. Since the retirement of Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter, the New York Yankees struggled to rebuild with young additions, like Brian McCann, and fell in the AL Wild Card Game. With All-Star players like Mike Trout and Albert Pujols, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were not able to conquer their division and were not present in the postseason play of 2015. The Texas Rangers held high hopes with their playoff dreams with Prince Fielder at the helm leading them to the ALDS, but falling just short of an advancement.

It is hard to believe, but the 2015 NBA tipoff has already happened, but that hasn't stopped fans from raving about  last year's turnout: The Golden State Warriors as the 2015 NBA Champions! The heated competition of the 2014-2015 NBA season dwindled down to just two postseason contenders for the 2015 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. In a thrilling six-game series, the Warriors took home the title four games to two. Although the San Antonio Spurs claimed the 2014 NBA Championship after the Miami Heat's back-to-back titles, both teams came up short this season. After the King left Miami, LeBron James brought big aspirations to Cleveland, leading the Cavs to the win their division and an Eastern Conference Championship. With All-Star, Derrick Rose back on the court and supporting stars like Joakim Noah, the Chicago Bulls had a successful season but fell just short of the Conference Finals in a second round loss to the Cavs. As for the Western Conference Championship, the dominant Golden State Warriors dominated the Houston Rockets for a trip to the 2015 NBA Finals. Despite being the underdog in the postseason, the Washington Wizards swept the first round but missed the title even with a legion of star players, including Bradley Beal and John Wall, at the helm. Although Kevin Durant won the 2014 NBA MVP Award and hoped to lead the OKC Thunder to another run at the Western Conferense title, his team couldn't make it past the regular season. Despite surpassing Michael Jordan for the third spot on the NBA's all-time scoring list, the legendary Kobe Bryant fell to another season-ending injury and the Los Angeles Lakers were knocked out of the postseason. Typical contenders in the Eastern Conference, like the New York Knicks missed the postseason, while Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets snuck into the playoffs only to fall short in the first round.

The Chicago Blackhawks won the series 4-2 in Game 6 with two goals to none after taking the Western Conference Championship from the Anaheim Ducks. After another exciting NHL season, the Los Angeles Kings fell short of the postseason despite being named the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions, winning an intense five-game series against the New York Rangers. While the Kings missed the playoffs, the Rangers dominated the Metropolitan Division for a spot in the Eastern Conference Championship against the Lightning, who ended their championship dreams in seven games. Typical postseason contenders, the Boston Bruins failed to reach the playoffs, while the Montreal Canadians won the Atlantic Division in hopes of reclaiming the crown. Power players, including the Pittsburgh Penguins led by Sidney Crosby and the Detroit Red Wings, also surprisingly fell to the middle of the pack this season but squeaked into the playoffs, while emerging teams, like the Washington Capitals and the St. Louis Blues, worked their way to the top of the standings and a run at the postseason.
